Isang Patotoo

Poem written by my betterhalf in the year 1997

Baku bako kong landas nagawa mong patagin
aking mga kasalanan nagawa mong patawarin
madilim kong buhay iyong ipinagliwanag

Kaya't purihin Ka Panginoon kong Diyos
sa Iyong pag-ibig pagmamahal mong lubos
Iyong kaligtasan ibinigay sa akin
tunay ngang nararapat na Ika'y purihin.

Bilang pasasalamat O Hesus namin
narito ako, ako'y iyong gamitin
paglilingkod sa iyo' buong pusong gagawin
upang buong mundo'y ikaw ang purihin.

House-Husband Profession

Profession in a sense, is what a home-making,
Common for a woman, people might be thinking,
But how would you react, if you will be hearing,
A man as home-maker, that is what I am trudging.

Other men would look down, some people might be laughing,
A few will understand, some of them may be teasing,
Once a star player, basketball I was playing,
Small soft squeeze ball, is now I am holding.

I used to be the one, apple of ladies' eyes,
People shout and yell, when the ball is in my hand,
Now one tiny voice will shout, "Daddy, the ball is mine!"
I pass it and you shoot, then the turn will be mine.

Body-building exercises were once a part of me,
But now, I am busy with with all house activity,
Laundry and iron, cooking food for family,
Washing dishes, cleaning house, but I am proud to be.

What convinced me to stay as a father-at-home
Was the hardship to find, a care-taker at home
No nanny for my son, my wife couldn't work home
I have to sacrifice, my career and my poise.

Yes, a sacrifice but with rewards not measurable,
Yes, a humbling chore but with trophies not countable,
Guiding my son as he grows, provide my wife with all support,
Her accomplishments shared, not humiliating at all.

Success of family depends on accomplishments
Determined by the results and children's attainment
Measured on attitude and quality achievements
Results of the kind of family government.

House-husband profession, if well-taken and fulfilled,
Will bear fruit of success, for the family to gain,
Importance of home-makers, should not be put in vain,
Its the most rewarding, most fulfilling undertaking.

Not all women are gifted on being a home-maker
Really not all men are effective home-builder
It is an expertise, special handiness
Skill that I acquired, developed and cultivated.

Your LovingKindness

You have created me and gave your breath to me,
You mould me in your likeness, as clean as I should be,
You gave power to me, Your Spirit who is free,
You entrusted me my will, the soul that I would be.

I enjoyed your creation, everything is good,
You have just one Rule, not to feed on that fruit,
Came serpent with temptation, the woman became a tool,
Forgotten to obey You, then everything went wrong.

My soul in rebellion, never found its way home,
Sin became a part of this God-moulded soul,
I was blinded and deceived, I didn't see you close,
I felt You were afar, I thought that You were gone.

I continued to sin, until I was wrecked,
All else had went away, leaving me distressed,
This life that was wonderful, is facing its torment,
Would there be any hope, or am I near to death?

Then there was silence and a cold touch of wind,
And suddenly Your voice, was all that I heared,
"My son, My beloved, its now that you take heed,
I am the Lord Thy God, repent and you will live."

It was then that I learned that You never abandoned me,
When I felt that You're away, it was me who gone astray,
I never became grateful for the life you gave to me,
For every morning that starts, I was never thankful to Thee.

I was blinded and didn't see, how much You treasure me,
You even gave Your Son to die in place of me,
You have forgiven me, You gave Your hands to me,
You even carry me when I am full of misery.

You have transformed my life, You have blessed my days,
From sinner to believer, Your lovingkindness stays,
From receiver to giver, Your grace and mercies remain,
I will then obey and serve you till the end of my days.

Redefined Freedom

This article was written by my betterhalf during the time when political issues can still affect her personal outlook as a nationalistic person on the future of this nation.

Redefined Freedom
March 2006

Freedom...the ultimate dream of our nation's noble heroes...Freedom...the word that kept the fire of hope burning in our great men's hearts...Freedom...once a dream...not once a reality...but now...a fantasy...

Freedom became a reality... when the Philippines gained its freedom from the Spanish colony...when the Pearl of the Orient was freed from the cruelty of the Japanese soldiers...when our Mother Land was untied from the United States' umbrella...when the Marcos' dictatorship was ended with a Peaceful Revolution at EDSA. In each event of gaining freedom, heroes...men and women, rise; they all dreamed, most of them died, but they all succeeded.

But what did the mother of the current government do with the spirit of freedom that these great men and women left? She was once a believer of a Peaceful Revolution! She even came into power by using such a massive peaceful action.

Corruption done by the president's family members and allies (Jose Pidal issue, involvement in Jueteng operation) are being covered up. 2004 Election Fraud was evidently exposed through the 'Hello Garci' wiretapped conversation but would likely be whitewashed by the fake president's simple "I...am...sorry..." The issuance of EO464 protects government allies against the investigations on graft and corruption, i.e. the 'Hello Garci' wiretapping, alleged issue of the fertilizer fund, irregularities in the NorthRail project.
People (civilian, military, politicians, militant leaders, congressmen and women, senators, media, students) who try to exercise their supposed to be "FREEDOM" are being heartlessly dispersed, arrested without warrants, detained and charged. Their human rights are continuously being violated! These people are the ones paying taxes, value-added taxes and double-extended VAT that sustain your living, your glamorous lifestyles, and even your extra-ordinary wealth and power!

The government is so paranoid that even in the event of the expected celebration of the country's freedom from Marcos' dictatorship, the fake president declared Proclamation 1017 putting the whole nation under the state of national emergency because of the RUMORED COUP. Where was she when she was not yet into power that she's enjoying and embracing now? She was with the former leaders Cory, Ramos and Erap celebrating this historic event. She even killed the spirit of the People Power by canceling the scheduled celebration and the permits given to the people who would like to remember the event and cry out their grievances to the present administration! She had these people arrested, jailed and prosecuted! These are the same people who cried against the other leaders who abused their powers. Even if the Proclamation 1017 had been lifted, military men are still under the high influence of 1017. Warrantless arrests, police brutality, rob-outs, frame-ups and a lot more forms of human rights violation are being done against the people who are supposed to be enjoying the real spirit of democracy. The people are the victims of today's fake democracy!

It is evident that the people is no longer happy with the fake democracy, the people is no longer enjoying the promised and published democracy, well in fact, it is like a den full of lions (politicians and government officials) who would attack them anytime! Fake Government, do not wait till five or more suicide bombers peacefully enter MalacaƱang and embrace you to death. Do not wait till there will be volunteers who would be willing to shed their bloods to regain the real freedom, the real democracy. Madam President, be sensitive enough to the people's cry. Let your face be not covered by the wealth and power that you are enjoying at the expense of the Filipino people. You do not deserve the power, you are too lame and too coward to lead the country. You always think of defenses even when nothing and nobody yet attacks you. You always protect yourself and the power that you have. Are you afraid to have your power grabbed the same way as how you grabbed it before? If you are a real leader, if you are truly brave, make your graceful exit! Remember, there is always an end to any cruelty, there is always an end to all dictatorship. Let not your end be a tragic one.
It is the universally accepted principle of democracy, that "Democracy is of the people, by the people, and for the people". With the human rights violations, the suppression of freedom, warrantless arrests, injustices and harassments being done by law enforcers with the blessings of the Executive Body of this country, the Philippine government now has a Redefined Democracy... "Democracy is of the Fake President, by the Puppet Law Enforcers, and for the Corrupt Government and Allies"!

Just for the morning

> >I am going to smile

> >
> >Just for this morning, I will leave the

> >you one if he comes by.
> >
> >Just for this afternoon, I won't worry
> >about what you are going to
> >be when you grow up, or second guess every decision
> >I have made where you are concerned.

> >Just for this evening when I run my finger
> >through your hair as you pray,
> >I will simply be grateful that God has
> >given me the greatest gift ever given.

> >I will think about the mothers and fathers who are
> >searching for their missing children,

> >children's graves instead of their bedrooms,
> >and mothers and fathers who are in
> >hospital rooms watching their children suffer
> >senselessly, and screaming inside they can't handle it
> >anymore.

> >And when I kiss you goodnight I will hold
